Our program has four ensembles:
- Chamber Choir: This auditioned mixed ensemble performs a variety of challenging music. As an honors ensemble, they regularly perform at ISSMA festivals. Chamber Choir is also the core of our touring program, where our choirs travel outside of Bloomington to perform.
- Treble Choir: This auditioned ensemble is open to anyone who sings either soprano or alto. Treble Choir performs music of the highest caliber while also focusing on preparing students for the advanced music-reading needed for Chamber Choir.
- Bass Choir: Pronounced like the fish, Bass Choir is an auditioned ensemble open to students who sing either tenor or bass. Students are highly encouraged to join Bass Choir as a class, but in the event that their schedule is not full, they are welcome to sing in the Bass Auxiliary, which meets weekly during tutorial.
- Concert Choir: This ensemble focuses both on preparing music for performance and the teaching and reinforcement of the fundamentals of choral singing, including sight-singing, technique, vocal health, and musical expression. No audition is required for this ensemble.
